YO GEORGIANS! :)

Last night before I knew about the outbreak I let the kids play with the ducks ALL through the house..... If anyone gets sick, it is all my fault.

I had my husband go out and buy bleach.... we never have that in the house. We try to use natural, healthy, organic everything. Not playing around with this though. It isn't worth it.

I have to find a way to get these birds tested. I will not be allowing anyone over, I will not risk anyone getting sick.

This maybe a repeat . I thought I sent it already! I have mixed chicks but they are at 10 weeks now and one is so big he can hardly move. He sits down to eat. He's quite a bit bigger than the others of the same age. Is this a breed or an aberration? All white red comb huge legs and feet!
I'm not as much into chickens as everyone else but I don't think being so big you can't move is normal. Could you take a picture with a phone or something? Mobile BYC can take pictures straight off your phone if you need it to.

I tried to send a pic a couple of times but it's not going through. He looks like a big dopey kid. Clomping around a few steps at a time. Otherwise he looks normal. Solid white red comb. Nothing remarkable. Just huge and clumsy. Is this typical of some breed? His legs are bigger than my full grown buff Orpington rooster and he just 11 weeks

If you are using a phone go log in, go to the thread, scroll down to the reply box and click the picture icon. Then use upload from my device and it should work out. You have to make sure you actually click submit afterwords.

This is crazy Book. I'm so sorry to hear about this and I truly hope you and your family are okay and healthy. I wish I knew of a vet in your area but sadly I don't. If you can't find one I could point you to one around my area in NE Georgia.

Sounds like you may have a Cornish rock. They are bred to grow extremely fast for eating. At 8 weeks old, they are so big they can no longer walk. They are usually processed by this time. Many die of a heart attack by the time it is 3 months old. You may want to google them and see if that is what you have.
