YO GEORGIANS! :)

I just started fermenting my layer pellets. Do you ferment the alfalfa as well? Is this a commercially available feed?
Most feed stores sell the alfalfa pellets ... and as she said, toss them in your ff bucket.

When I can remain vigilant with it, I love doing ff. The birds do well on it, too.

Is there anyone living in or around the Blue Ridge GA area? My DH and I will be heading that way this fall and would love to know of great places to visit. We love handmade crafts like pottery, wood working, jewelry and I knit. Also if anyone knows of beautiful mountain views to see in the area. I know we will be visiting Mercier Apple Orchard and a few places downtown but is there anything out of the way to see?

In the fall you have all sorts of festivals up this way! The Apple festival in Ellijay, the Gold Rush and Bear on the Square festivals in Dahlonega, the Moonshine festival in Dawsonville to name a few. The best mountain views are at the Lodge at Amicalola falls State Park. On the rare occasion that the sky is crystal clear, you can actually see downtown Atlanta! The park had the tallest cascading waterfall east of the Mississippi. There are 604 steps you can climb all the way up to the top if you so choose. It is the beginning of the Appalachian Trail. You could go to Dahlonega. It is the site of America's first gold rush. There is a courthouse (Gold Museum) in the middle of town surrounded by cute little shops and restaurants. (It is a college town). Blue Ridge also has some cute shops. Out of Blue Ridge runs the Blue Ridge Railroad if you would like to book a ride on it. But, honestly, the Amicalola Falls State Park is absolutely gorgeous in the fall when the leaves turn colors! (And you would be right by my house! We see the falls from our porch!)

I will look into the falls it sounds wonderful! We just have a weekend but hope to put a lot into it. I'm not crazy about trains or steps though, LOL! I thought I was going to kill over when we went to Clingman's Dome a couple of years ago. We stayed in Blue Ridge, GA last year on a creak at a little cabin. It was nice but we didn't get to stay long enough to get to see much. I hope there is a festival the weekend we are there and that it doesn't rain.
