YO GEORGIANS! :)

Darn, can't get it to work. Here is what it looks like.

That's a pretty neat little thing.

Carcar, I have two Brahmas that I hatched from Papa Brooders. The eggs were sent as gold/blue Brahmas. I always believed I had one male and one female. They are now a little over 5 months old. The male has always been more red than the 'female'. Now, I am wondering about the 'female' as it has a lot of reddish coloring in her wings/shoulders. I usually associate that coloring with males. 'She' still has almost no color in her face. I am not familiar with Brahmas as these are the first ones I have ever had. They are big chickens and are so slow to mature. Can you send me some photos of your females so I can see what they might look like? I will try to get a photo of both of them tomorrow. Thanks for any help. This is the male, Beau.
He is a "splash"/red pyle, though the "red pyle" bit will not get you far on the Brahma thread :gig I got a few of these boys from my own partridge flock as well last summer. They are beautiful and usually had the best of the build AND leg feathering for some strange reason. But I was scared to use them for breeding bc I don't understand the color that well so I have them away. Do you have a pic of the pullet?

Sounds like "she" may be a gold or blue cockerel. They all start out looking similar with the exception of the one pictured above, but the girls remain the same color and the males feather out their fancy colors.

ok, here are 'her' photos. This chicken is a little over 5 1/2 months old. It seems too small combed to be a male, but the coloring suggests male. But, I am not familiar with Brahmas. What do you think? I am thinking of selling this chicken at the event.

Ohh yes that's a manly boy for sure. ;) Looks blue from those pics but hard to tell.. Is he?

I picked up some hatching eggs on CL a few weeks ago from a nice gal with a small homestead ... about 20 minutes or so from us. Nothing fancy or exciting but I wanted to bump my egg producing flock since I have had so mny people bugging me for eggs ... figured I'd get to work on new and replacement hens for the eating egg side of things.

Anyway ... only 1 egg got tossed at the day 7 candling. Of the remaining eggs I got 100% hatch. Sweet!! Those are the kind of numbers that I like. (Have I mentioned how much I love my incubator?)

Got a box full of Serama eggs today ... GAMjr is almost beside herself, the eggs are "just so darn cute"
