YO GEORGIANS! :)

So do we stay at our vehicles with our chicks or are people putting up tables? We are bringing the small brooder that has a heat lamp in it. If I have nowhere to plug for heat, my husband said we would have to run the heater in the CR-V to keep the chicks warm if that is ok.

You can stay with your vehicle or set up tables whichever you choose. Entirely up to you. If you don't intend to stay the full time then it's best to set up a table or something so when you're ready to go you can just fold your table and go. I'm going to do my best to limit people driving where people will be standing/walking.

Ok. I'm not sure what we will do then.

So I can get a couple like her from a harchery? I know she is a beuty :). I think this time around I am going for various breeds. I now have an Ameracauna so I want to get him a couple females, some RIRs.And some otherbreeds. Haven't made my mind up yet. Lol. :celebrate

I have one but since I had back surgery I cant pull the cord to start it. If I can figure out someone to put it on the truck between now and Sat I will bring it. if it does not make it I thank I can run 2 125 w lamps on my inverter if u need to run one. I will test it out to see how much I can run at one time in the morning.
I didn't see this on the post but did in my email. Thank you for the offer. Let me know if it works. In the meantime when my DH gets back from out of town, he said he would try to think of something.

You can get a much cheaper power inverter than the one i posted and just run a 60 watt lightbulb or something to produce the heat or like someone else said get some Hot Hands packs and place them under a sheet or something in the brooder so it provides a heat blanket of sorts.

I think we have an inverter somewhere in my DH's shop. He will have to look for it when he gets back in town. Do they have the hot hands at TSC?

Ok do not try to run a 250w heat lamp on an inverter from a car or truck. In looking into it this morning most cars wiring will not handle the load. You will blow a fuse or if u have to large of a fuse in your plugs circuit u can burn up wiring.one 125w heat lamp is going to be pushing the limits on most cars wiring. It is not the size of the inverter that is the problem it is the wiring from the plug in the car to the battery that can not handle the load. Just a heads up for everybody.
