Based on comb alone, I can see the very obvious three rows, but combined with feathering/tail it throws it all off. And forget stance photos.. They all have one thing in common no matter the sex.. They HATE my guts!! :lau

I wouldn't pay as much attention to feathering with the AMs. My last black pullet almost had another home because she was so slow to feather in. Her comb never grew. That was her saving grace.

Thanks :) Yeah I know, I was just showing how it's so crazy, the differences in feathering vs combs! You get used to the slow-feathering/no-tail boys..

The girl I got these from had a box of older ones. I was examining them all over, trying to sex them and she said, "you really can't.." LOL. She was right. (Even by the combs) :/

Remember that slow or fast feathering has to be bred into the chickens like hatcheries do. All bets are off if a breeder doesn't continue it. So feathering wont help much. But I would guess that for sure chick #4 is boy and #5 is girl. #3 looks girlish to me. Have to wait for #1 % #2.

And just when you think you have it all figured out they go and change your mind, like my Lucy then at 8 months she decided she was a he,no previous signs all girlish and then came Larry
