YO GEORGIANS! :)

For the swap do you have to trade chicks/chickens/chicken related goods or does anything home/handmade work? These chicks I have are my first ever, so obviously I'm not producing anything yet, but I make some killer jams and pickles! I also do art, if art is a thing people will trade chicks for?
I won't make it to this next one, sadly I am working, but I can plan to ask off for the April swap!

Also if anyone happens to spot some colored egg layers (blue/green/olive) or some speckled sussexes there, let me know? I realized the other day that all my chicks are brown egg layers, which will make for a very boring (if still tasty!) egg basket.

Thanks I'll give it a shot. I plan on going to the McDonoughTSC swap next Saturday in my search efforts. I'm looking for splash primarily, molted 2nd choice and Mille Fleur. I'd don't need a whole flock only a couple of quality birds for now.

Cliff knows the guy and he could bring you what you want to the swap since he is down that way.

So, funny chick story for me today:
I've had my chicks a couple days and estimate them at close to a week old since I got them from TSC. I've been offering them a little bit of grit with their food so, I figure, why not try giving them a treat today?
I have some strawberries in my fridge that have started to go a bit wilty, so I snagged one and took it to the brooder and offered it to the most dominant chick first, (a RIR I've dubbed Peppercorn) figuring that once she started going for it the rest would follow. The plan was to let most of the chicks have a taste or so and then take it away for a while so their little tummies can get used to new things slowly...

But that's not what happened.
Peppercorn took one hard look at that strawberry, jumped as if startled, made this strange trilling cheep and fell backwards all over herself in her haste to get away and then ran all the way to the other side of the brooder peeping the whole way! I wish I'd had a camera!

And for the life of me I could not get her to warm up to that strawberry! Every time I moved it towards her she screamed and ran away! I even tried leaving it on the ground for a while and in the food bowl for a bit and she (and the others too) would just eye it suspiciously and eat from the other side of the dish. I don't know if it was the color or what, but they were not having it!

let a piece of bread dry on the counter and then crumble it up and put it in there, they will attack it like a football huddle, it is funny
Here's a craig's list ad. I have experience with this seller. Be VERY careful if you answer this ad. This lady is crazy and her husband is psychotic. They live WAY out in the woods (like a 2 mile driveway) so nobody can hear you scream. Other than that, she has nice chickens.

, watch out they know where you live

Can you bring knitted products to a swap? Or angora fibers?
I'd say yes to hand crafts, I saw baked good at the last one. and I know some trade some green paper stuff for other stuff

OK, I have 2 eggs that are now on day 22 and they have not done anything how long do I wait? one is an egg I had my doubts before lockdown I do have one chick that is still trying to hatch it is almost out, it has decided to take a break. I really don't want an egg to blow up in there heard it is really yecky

well if these don't do anything by this evening I will throw them out, so I set 15 eggs, 12 from flower so 11 of her eggs hatched!!!! and the other was mine, I'm happy with those numbers.

One Brahma out when I got home from church. It actually even saved the final push for me to watch, lol.

Leaving the house again for a few hours. Hoping the last one is out when I get back. I'm sure the others are ready to get the heck OUT of that bator!
