I sent flower pictures of my new chickens and she was just mean to me. 

So we went to visit our new source today and got 5 Orpington chicks.  Their mother is blue and their dad is colored like a legbar.  I can't remember what that color is called.   We got 2 red dominque hens.  We are considering going back and getting the rooster and other 2 hens.  We got 5 orpington eggs from the same parents and 8 naragansett turkey eggs.  And we got 4 muscovy girls.  1 chocolate.  1 lavender.  1 black.  1 green/blue iridescent color.  Depends on how the light is hitting her.

He also has a welsummer pair we are considering.

Lol. Sorry, Robo, I had no idea who was sending those pictures! Just saw two phone #s I didn't recognize sending me pictures of chickens! Glad you got so many new babies! Did you ever hatch any of my ducks? Too soon yet, I am thinking, right?

And the duck eggs from you are doing very well. Should be due next week.

I have one chick that just seems weak, it was the last late bloomer, I hope it will be ok, it's balance is way off and just doesn't seem to have strong leggs

Ok, let me see what all I can remember ...

Turkeys ... Naragansett, Royal Palm, and Bourbons.

Geese ... Toulouse, Pilgrim, Chinese, Buff, and "mutts" from all of the above.

Ducks ... Muscovy, Rouen, and a lot of mutts. Might have been a few Mallards.

Peafowl ... India Blue males. Not sure what the females were. Even though they are the voice behind Kevin in the movie Up I still want them. Some day ... some day.

Chickens ... oh boy ...

Orpingtons in all kinds of colors (and they are absolutely huge) ... Chocolates (LF and bantam), Mottled, Splash, Crele, Blue, Black, Jubilee ... I think that was it.

Mille Fleur Cochin

flower ... a couple of the chicks from your eggs gave me a new experience. They pipped on the wrong end and ended up creating a weird foam out of the residual moisture in their eggs. They're both fine now after a little help but it was so weird ... I've never seen that before.

The ducks are looking great. They get a fine mist spray almost every day. I guess it sort of replicates wet duck butt ... plus it is something that I started doing last year when I had chicken and duck eggs in the incubator together. Seems to help offset the lower incubating humidity that I run for the chickens.

For the swap do you have to trade chicks/chickens/chicken related goods or does anything home/handmade work? These chicks I have are my first ever, so obviously I'm not producing anything yet, but I make some killer jams and pickles! I also do art, if art is a thing people will trade chicks for?
I won't make it to this next one, sadly I am working, but I can plan to ask off for the April swap!

Also if anyone happens to spot some colored egg layers (blue/green/olive) or some speckled sussexes there, let me know? I realized the other day that all my chicks are brown egg layers, which will make for a very boring (if still tasty!) egg basket.

Anything home made works and you don't have to trade but it is what the event is based around.
