Is 1600.00 with a 144  sq ft run and 8 x12 coop too much ,it has a lifetime warranty .

Oh!! THAT size would be fine for 20 I think. I thought you meant 8x12 total footprint like the one I have.

I don't guess that price sounds too bad, but it makes me cringe because my hubby would build it far cheaper for me.

I am familiar with the guy you speak of though, and his work looks very nice. And with a warranty, makes it even better. :shrug

Is it too early to tell if your NN is frizzled? Do you think the OE X Marans may be a NN?

If I've told Mr Carcar once, I've told him 1,000 times. Coops are a good business. I think if it weren't for the tin roof he'd be okay, LOL!! Wasn't sure I'd get my coop after all when roof day came. jk

It is a frizzle!! The OE hens are in the same coop with the Marans, so yes it could be a NN, but I have only had one NN out of about 20 eggs from that coop. The NN rooster has been with them long enough that they should all be NN now. So, how many eggs do you want? I'll have a dozen CCL eggs by about Wed., just sayin'.

Interesting tidbit: my Day 7 eggs that I candled tonight included two from the same day from my overachieving Brahma. They both have bobbers inside! I was curious whether they were both complete/correct eggs.
