YO GEORGIANS! :)

About the LOs- the person I got my eggs from (for free and hatched 2) recently sold some at point of lay for $25 each even the males. I had purchased a pair from him for $25. My lady started laying about a month later. That's the most I've paid for an adult pair so I guess I'm lucky: but beware- I believe I got that price cuz he thought something was genetically wrong with the cockerel since he would always shake/sway his head. They had red mites badly, boy had ear mites and still battling the red mites! I keep all breeds in separate coops not connected to one another and keep an eye on all the chickens. I'll have to get a pic of them tomorrow. I have a few of her eggs due to hatch. The male had badly frostbitten wattles and comb but recovered beautifully!

Absolutely beautiful and graceful photos of the chickens and kids! It's like they know the kids are little ones and are watching out for them

How do you tell if they have ear mites? Do you use a magnifying glass to see them? I have been trying to regularly check my chicks for such things but they sure are squirmy. And I can't see without my glasses on. LOL

I know! This woman has lived on this road for ages. She KNOWS she's in the country. Her husband went out and pulled a gun on the fireman a couple years back because he was on the adjacent property to theirs hunting. which is NOT uncommon. Told him it was their property and tried to scare him, but everybody knows who they are and that he was completely full of it. They're just crazy I guess.
that could really end badly, pulling a gun on someone. Esp a deer hunter who is already armed probably with something more powerful. Sounds like these people have lived there so long they don't really want neighbors....

I'd have to just tell her, if we're bothering anyone else, I'm sure they can speak for themselves. You're way nicer than I am, because I don't like people in general, LOL too many years working a job dealing with the public I think. My son in law calls me Mr Wilson, our last house the neighbor kids were constantly riding their bikes and walking, not just IN our yard mind you, right by the stinking windows! Subdivision or not, cut the corner of the yard, ok. Play kickball and use my back yard as the outfield, hey, beats them being out on the street somewhere. but DON'T walk right by my windows.........

"you kids get outta my yard!!!!!" this was the same house where the one neighbor let his dogs terrorize the neighborhood until the day I told him I'd shoot them and he told me to call the law. Which I did, and he wound up with a citation for each of the 3 dogs that were running loose......cost him over 500 of his hard earned dollars........... bahahaha

You may want to buy some dog mite/ flea/tick stuff in the little squeeze containers. Buy the largest size because it costs the same as the small tubes. Put about three drops on the back of your chickens necks. Works like a charm!
