YO GEORGIANS! :)

Seems like there's a lot of us wanting to get together, Savannah, Pooler and surrounding areas, we all need to decide on a place, date and time?

Gosh I would love to, but our schedule is insane. We can't even schedule vacation because of baseball. But DS loves it, so we are along for the ride! Economy does have a decent swap, but if you are wanting covered dish, someone's home might be best.

I was hesitating on starting another tray of collected eggs in the bator since my hygrometer went out during last weekends hatch. I am so glad I hesitated! 2 buff orp girls were crammed in one nest box on Saturday sitting on infertile eggs from that day. Sunday morning I split 18 eggs between 2 boxes sort of expecting all of the eggs to be moved to the one box they use. Haha, silly me...by Monday morning the 2 girls' momma had joined the brooding! She snuck in and stole the nest from red band. I thought oooh, three broodies means I can put the rest of the collected eggs under them! I knew I could move their momma to the brood apt and she'd continue to set so when she got up for scratch I moved her and gave her 11 bantam eggs. The red band girl had been sitting outside the nest boxes like she was waiting for one of the others to move. As soon as Goldie got out she started trying to roll eggs out with her beak! Dd was laughing so hard

Red band finally gave up trying to get eggs over the side and got on the nest. Goldie got some of the OEGB Crele eggs and I'm hoping since no large fowl eggs are under her none will get crushed. Thank you Mother Nature!

Soooooo I took my eggs out for one last candling and air-cell tracing, and to take pictures to see if you guys think the air cells looks ok....

Only to notice I HAVE TWO PIPPING!!!
Cue immediate panic!
I popped them back into the 'bator and kicked up the humidity to 50%! Hopefully I put them back at a good orientation! It's the two smallest eggs, so maybe the chicks stayed warmer than the fatter eggs, and hopefully they'll be ok and not underdeveloped! I don't know what time they pipped because I just got home from work, so I have no clue how long til actual hatch! I'm so worried/excited! Ahhh!
congratulations !how things going now??

Definitely want to! I think starting off at the Economy Feed & Seed swap would be a good starting point for meeting? I am not familiar with any of the other farmers markets that would allow animal swap and covered meal so if anyone wants to check on that? I'm not good at planning things like this.

I bet that was torture leaving!! Need a nanny cam!

Cruel and unusual to say the least! Don't these babies know? They were supposed to hatch Wednesday night and through Thursday (which I had off!) Ungrateful!

it would be great when you get home to find that most of them have piped out lol -hope-fingers crossed -keep us posted.

It would be great! Fingers crossed and hoping for four healthy babies when I get home!

I tell you what though, @Gamarans' roosters know what they're doing! All four eggs were fertile and developed throughout incubation! Even the one I was most worried about was the first to hatch! :D
