YO GEORGIANS! :)

I have a sinking feeling that I may have accidentally buried my $180 camera in the flower box that I put on the coop. I took it out to take pictures and I vaguely recall setting it in the box before it was planted. Every time I go out to check on the chickens, I want to stick my hand in the dirt and see if it's in there but I don't wan to ACTUALLY confirm that I did something so stupid.
Oh no! Lol. I left my phone in the feed bin, shavings bag, etc, but haven't actually buried it... Yet

Oh mercy!!!! I really really hope you find it and didn't bury it.

If you did, just remember, unlike the animals, we are only human.

go ahead and get it. It might not be hurt that badly.

I lost a tape measure while building a house one time. Pretty sure I used last it to measure and mark off some footing trenches for the basement concrete floor, never to be seen again......

I watered the crap out of them right after I put them in. :(

Morning everyone.

Happy Sunday.

Went out this morning and found a smallish chick in the outside pen that had been injured. I moved new ones out yesterday and this was one of questionable size.. But a little betadine, heat and a couple of young friends later and I think he's gonna make it.

The dark one to the left is from yesterday's hatch.. It had trouble hatching and I didn't notice and had let my humidity plummet thinking it never even pipped. Well, come to find out it had and was stuck HORRIBLY. Now its neck is horribly crooked. So it's in the infirmary too lol.

In other news, I'm selling a small coop (dog house type) and we are building a tractor. I'm thinking this kind.. Anyone have one and like/dislike it? I'd like it for my bantams instead of a stationary I think.

Just gotta decide if I want the raised coop part or like the second pic. I'm leaning toward second.
I'm actually thinking of doing something similar for separating my AMs into pairs for breeding so I can keep up with what pair gives me what chicks.

I am! what's going on?

was looking for help getting some goslings closer to Atl

Definitely raised. Then I can hang food/water underneath.

Thanks for working me through this one, guys. Y'all are the best!

glad we could be there for you

It's considered a small enough dosage to not contaminate the meat. It's also not commonly given after the age of 8 weeks.

That's what "they" say about a lot of things

The main reason I love deer hunting. I have seen all kinds of things while sitting in the woods hidden and still. I love being out there and being a part of nature.

Remind me ... how long has it been? :p

I have no earthly idea why you quoted me and then quoted yourself. I'd already read that post and was why I questioned it along with another person. After reading it again, I now am also questioning the 'getting protein too fast and it upsetting her stomach', where is the documentation/proof this is possible? I'm not saying it's not possible, but I'd like to see it in some kind of proven study instead of just someone on the internet. Kind of like all the people who say DE is so great, but yet there are no proven studies SHOWING it does everything it does. I've tried it and can say beyond a shadow of a doubt I've seen absolutely NO effect of it.

Sorry if I seem argumentative, I'm not trying to be. I just like to see something that proves it. Also, seems I've read that wheat and it's by products aren't necessarily good for chickens, and you're advising mix straight flour with the feed to slow their system down? I'd like to see something on that too.

As for the statement that a minimum amount of medication is better than none at all, well that's actually false. Minimum dosages that don't straight out kill the bacteria they're intended to eliminate only allow those bacteria to build up a resistance to the medication, requiring a much stronger dose next time to actually kill the bacteria. That's a proven fact throughout the medical/pharmaceutical field. It's why a doctor who prescribes an antibiotic will 99.9% of the time make a point to tell the patient to take ALL the medicine, not just part of it until they think they feel a little bit better.
I am not discussing a scientific feild if medicine ,we are not on web MD here and the discussing the issuce of flour my grgreatgrandmother raised chickens and i remember her giving a small amount if plain not self rising and it stopped the runny poop and if you think about it chickens will eat almost anything there are a lot if thing that a chicken will eat that is not good for them ,and there are a lot of things that work but there is no scientific documents to prove that these things work .Like I said earlier i inly daid what eorked for my chickens this may not work for everyones fowl
