YO GEORGIANS! :)

You googled the wrong snipe.

LOL uh huh.......... I googled snipe and several different varieties popped up. that one is not a snipe.

oh you meant the one that seemingly runs right through the pillow case and never gets caught no matter how loud you bang the pan with the wooden spoon, gotcha

I KNEW IT! I knew there was a crazy inside joke in there and no way was I gonna pull a Jessica Simpson on that one!!! LOL I was like, "I'm missing something here, but I best leave it alone or the next time there's a cookout, they'll have me running through the woods with a pillow case and a wooden spoon."

Well now I'm just ill. We were RIGHT NEAR TSC (not so close to home) and called to see if our local hardware store has 4' chicken wire as we needed just a little. They said yes. So we came back toward home. Get to the hardware store.. They only have 3'.

Ugh!!! And the only feed store in town closed about 3min before we could make I over there from the dang hardware store.

So much for having babies off the porch today. Or this weekend, even.

I feel your pain. I'm still waiting for DH to get time to get the run up. I'm sure I forgot something that we'll need(won't find out till we go out there to work) and it will require a trip somewhere. LOL
That always happens, doesn't it? And I hate it when you get misinformed only to waste a trip.

aha! That's funny. I would've been the perfect target, I embarrass really easy. And then I cry. It's pretty lame. LOL

Hi,

I just subscribed to this forum, today. I am very happy to have found it. I live in Pickens Co., Jasper, GA.

I am just getting back into backyard chickens since we moved. Right now, I have 3 Euskal Oiloa Marraduna type, 1 hen, 2 pullets and 3 Pita Pinta Austuriana, 1 roo and 2 pullets, 8 wks. old. These breeds are Spanish and supposed to be very cold weather tolerant and heat tolerant.
I have raised and owned Dominique, RIR, Black Australorp, Buff Brahma, Buff Orpingtons. I am planning to get a couple of Black Australorps if I can find a couple of juvenile pullets. I hatched out 9 chicks in my new incubator a couple of mos. ago. However, because of a health scare I was not able to take proper care of them at the time. I had bought 6 eggs from a local Easter Egger breeder and she was gracious to take the 5 babies hatched from her eggs. The other 4 chicks were from eggs that came from CA.
I still have 3 of them. After all this, it seems that what was thought to be allergies and causing bronchitis, turned out to be manageable without my having to give up my animals; horses, chickens, cats, dogs.

I love my chickens and look forward to seeing and hearing what all is going on in GA
