YO GEORGIANS! :)

It wasn't a crop issue, it was literally her whole body was inflated. I did find that little article about the rooster online but really nothing else so I tried the incision thing. I cut on her side/under the wing to help keep dirt and stuff out and not cut anything important. We made the cut and the air came out and we covered it with neosporin. We did that twice and she is fine now.it was very weird, couldn't find anything about it on backyard chickens and I knew she wasn't egg bound.

Amazing! I will keep an eye out for this in the future.

not a post in here in the last 18 hours? y'all must really be having a bad day. First day back of the 'hostage situation' is always bad after a holiday weekend huh.......

I've actually been doing a little something today. the storm last week took a big limb out of a hickory tree at the father in laws house. It was hung up in the tree, so I tossed a chain around the end, pulled it down and cut it up. brought it home and split it up to pile up and season for the smoker.....taking a break to cool off before I go dump it.

hope you heal up soon!

thanks! The irony is a broken my leg saving the chickens!! It was during that first bad storm we had about a month ago that came outta nowhere!

This makes day 25... Three days after the others pipped and No pips on the other eggs, no motion on the float test. :(
Is it possible for eggs to develop at drastically different speeds or is it time to throw in the towel?

This one still is showing red veins and a lot of space at the bottom, could it still be alive?

That is pretty odd to still have such clear veins and that much space at this point.
I thought so too. I have two that look like this, and I think another two that are too full to see much into. I have two that look pretty clear except for a very small shadow( and I think I'm going to give up on them) and two I can barely see into at all because they're maran mix OEers. They all seem to be at different stages of development. I don't have a circulated incubator, and I wasn't as good this time about moving the eggs around because it was just so FULL, so I'm sure some got more heat than others.
