YO GEORGIANS! :)

ok answer me this, if someone is advertising fresh eggs, and says their chickens are "cage free" but also claims them to be 'vegetarian fed only', are they just completely full of bologna or totally ignorant to the fact their chickens eat bugs while they free range?

or am I just reading it wrong?

If I'm not mistaken cage free does not = free range. It just means they're not in the battery-type cages.

ok.....

when I read 'cage free' first thing I thought of was if they're not kept caged (cooped) up, they're out scratching and diggin and eatin bugs.

I'm goin on about 1 1/2 hour sleep last night, and it's way past time for me to get to bed, LOL

Thought I would post some chicken photos.

looks like one of my girls has been working on her golf game, she's apparently learned to chip out of the rough

I was cleaning out the poo tray and one of the roosters came in and got up and started into the nest with the egg. Not sure what his intentions were, so I directed him back out to the fathers waiting room.....

Not sure if he was just checking out the nest, or the egg or if he was going to eat it. I left it so I could see if the aussie will decide if she has a problem laying in the nest with an egg already there. If I go back out and it's gone, we may be doing an AM rooster on the smoker later today......

Funny!!!! My SL polish roo makes the nest for the hens...he could have been coming to tidy up a nest. He even sits in the nest!!!

So jealous of everyone's new egg layers! My wyandottes and d'uccle(/possible bantam EE) are coming up on 24 weeks and my silkies on 20 and I got nuthin' yet! Grr! These chickens need to start paying their rent! :p
