YO GEORGIANS! :)

Anyone want some cats??? I have two that I need to find a home for. Both neutered males, have their rabies shot. One is a blue and white short hair and the other is a black and white harlequin. Pm me if interested. We rescue a litter of feral kittens almost every year, and are over run with cats right now

lol. Sorry. The small one on the right. The left is from my BR pullet who has been laying a few weeks now. I will say though, the Olive landed the first egg INSIDE the laying box with no persuasion on my part- and no guidance from an older girl as the BR lays on the coop floor! :clap

I was just being facetious, LOL

We've started getting a brown and white egg every day now, and so far in the nest except for that one time. It is time for some of these others to start paying some rent too!

I finally got my long-awaited olive egg today!!!

Buuuuuttt...

it's okay though.. I told her she's so pretty she can stay no matter what color she lays. As long as she LAYS!

Oh Carcar! I am so sorry! She was definitely from my beautiful olive egg layer, but not knowing what her parents were, I guess she had a hidden recessive white shell gene. The chances of that was maybe 20%! Oh my gosh, I hope my other OEs aren't going to give me brown eggs! Darn, that's disappointing for you! So sorry!

I just got a waterer and a feeder from a friend who hasn't used them or had chickens in 3 to 5 years. Is it safe to use them for my chickens if I wash them ? Thanks-

Aw it's not your fault!! I learned something though.. I think it was actually a BYC thread that came up on a google search (I set out to prove to hubby her eggs will NOT "turn green" as she continues to lay :gig )..

I read that if a bird has a straight comb, the chances of colored eggs are only like 3%? (Don't quote me on that but it was crazy low).. Now I know! (IF that is in fact true).

Oh no! Well, at least her eggs are still lovely and speckled. I'll have to check my OE now to see if she's got a pea comb or a straight because I don't remember!
