About coyotes. There are no documented attacks of coyotes on humans! Ever. Just on other animals. Don't be too afraid to go after them if you need to. I think I would just opt for those auto lights that have big eyes that scare things away.

Coyote attacks on humans are uncommon and rarely cause serious injuries, due to the relatively small size of the coyote, but have been increasingly frequent, especially in the state of California. In the 30 years leading up to March 2006, at least 160 attacks occurred in the United States, mostly in the Los Angeles County area.[1] Data from the USDA's Wildlife Services, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, and other sources show that while 41 attacks occurred during the period of 1988–1997, 48 attacks were verified from 1998 through 2003. The majority of these incidents occurred in Southern Californianear the suburban-wildland interface.[2]


Two fatal coyote attacks have been confirmed by experts:

• In August, 1981, a coyote attacked three-year-old Kelly Keen in the driveway of her Glendale, California home and ran off with her. She was rescued by her father and rushed to the hospital, but died in surgery due to blood loss and a broken neck.[2][4]

• In October 2009, Taylor Mitchell, a 19-year-old Canadian folk singer on break from a concert tour, died from injuries and blood loss sustained in an attack by two eastern coyotes in Cape Breton Highlands National Park in Nova Scotia, Canada.[5]

she was on the nest for almost two hours today, sitting on her egg and one other, and fussed like crazy when I took them and ran her out.

So, if I just get any eggs from there and run her out, how long until she is no longer 'in the mood' LOL, anyone?

she was on the nest for almost two hours today, sitting on her egg and one other, and fussed like crazy when I took them and ran her out.  

So, if I just get any eggs from there and run her out, how long until she is no longer 'in the mood'  LOL, anyone?

Put a wedding ring on her and she'll never be in the mood again.

Hi! Our puppy despite preventative has whipworms. I would like to get our chickens tested. Does anyone know how in Georgia or know a poultry vet? I am also 8.5 months pregnant and don't really want to handle paste/undiluted (I would be willing to do wormer in water just not individual administration) wormer until after the baby is born. Any advise?
I have egg layers ten 19 weeks old and ten under 7 weeks old.

My vet treats chickens, She is in Summerville, Open till noon on sat, closed on Wed. Summerville vet clinic. if you need the number let me know.

Well, I've got a big problem here. My roo, Baymax, attacked my 3 year old today. I was weeding, and her her scream " owwwwww", saw her smack him (she's a sassy little girl) but as she turned and ran off he chased her and knocked her down. I had reached her by then and he ran off, I couldn't catch him. She has scratches on her leg and an arm, with bruising. He's always left the kids alone, but lately the neighbor girl has been trying to catch him, which results in my yelling at the kids to leave them alone. I was worried this would happen. Any advice? I told my husband that I'll give Baymax one more chance, but if he goes after the kids again it will be freezer camp.

Be very careful, they can easily reach the childs face and a well placed spur can do awful damage especially to the eyes, and they can cause awful infections just getting the arms and legs and it really hurts when they get ya. Honestly I'd re-home him and not take the chance. If he gets one of the neighbors kids even if they provoked it, could cause a lot of unwanted problems, Good luck

I was told you put ice in the nest, or put her some where that air can circulate around her to drop the temp of her body, otherwise it will not likely break until she hatches or drops dead from not eating and drinking enough.

Put a wedding ring on her and she'll never be in the mood again.
