YO GEORGIANS! :)

Which breed of brown egg layers do yall think would lay best in the cold? I'm thinking about getting a few buffs? But want yalls opinion?

I have a silver laced wyandotte that's been giving me an egg every 2-3 days, which I think isn't half bad for having no added light right now.

I think my poor ole ameraucana rooster is mentally retarded. This morning I was out in the run checking the water system (wasn't frozen much to my surprise) and he decided he'd try to sneak up on my blind side. Well, he jumped, like trying to drop kick me, only with him being in the 'Under 10 lb' weight class and me being in the 'over 215 lb' weight class he bounced off, landed on his side and just looked up at me, having one of those 'ONO' seconds.
You know, where immediately following doing something you realize 'oh no, that was a mistake'

I mean there was pure terror in his eyes. I almost felt sorry for him, but yes I established once again exactly WHY he shouldn't do that. After punting him to the corner of the run, then cornering him in the corner of the run with him squawking and hollaring like he was being killed, I let him go so he could go inside. Then I went inside, caught him, and carried him around by his feet for a few minutes. Then I pulled him up, petted him a few minutes and put him back.

my next trip to the run he decided he didn't want to be around me.

It's been a coupe of months since he did it last time. At that point, he'd tried to run at me only to find the bottom of my foot waiting for him, which he promptly ran into and fell down and then ran from me, LOL I guess every so often, he just forgets......

Is this a bantam Ameraucana?

So I'm sorry to say that this is my "cream crested Legbar" egg. :/

I though it was coming from my Brahma mix(which if it was I would have been thrilled!), but I literally just watched my CCL lay it. I am beyond disappointed. :(

Looks like I'm going to have to get a different blue egg layer.

I have two SLW and one is laying daily. Got more breeds that are supposed to start in a few weeks that should lay in winter.

Yesterday I got 2 eggs so both SLW are now laying. I have found that EE do not lay during winter. I am hoping some of my other breeds will lay by the end of the month, if they are breeds that lay during winter. I have BC Maran, Isbar, GLW, Speckeled Sussex, English Buff Orp, Silver Penciled Rock. Interested to see who will lay.

These are my SLW eggs. One has been laying a few weeks and has grown and the other is a starter egg.
