That's when I found it. Laptop is broken so I'm on a stupid iphone. Please advise. Im fraking the heck out. All I have on hand is iodine & neosporin.

Ouch! Poor girl! How's she doing today?

Easy way is to sprinkle the wound with food grade DE. I found a dog by the side of the road who had terrible open sores on his tail bones. Maggots were all inside. Doused the sores with DE for a few days. Maggots died and sores healed right up.

(dirty, messy cuteness)

Awww! Mine are on day 17!

These are barnyard mix.
Hens are RIR, Comet and maybe a Speckled Sussex (really can't tell if she's laying yet)
Roos are Olive Egger (BCM over Ameraucana), Blue Am, RIR, or Swedish Flower.

The black babies are interesting. Evidently the Blue AM roo is getting to a couple of the hens :)

@Flowerbh thanks for that info. I may have to try it.
@ShadesofSable The hole seems to be closing nicely. It's not raw looking anymore & I can't see the neck muscles anymore. I could see right down into her neck cavity. She is pretty shaken up & prefers my lap to anything else. I may put her in the cat carrier & take her on my errands. When I leave the room she gets antsy.

@katiedarling Aw! Poor thing! Give her a few extra snuggles for me. <3
We had to put our blue laced wyandotte down this week after the older girls beat her up too badly. I'm glad yours is going to make it!

I have never grown potatoes. I have the black thumb of death but I keep trying. Maybe some day I can upgrade to growing potatoes. For now, I can do tomatoes and cucumbers with no issues. Hopefully, practice makes perfect.

Will do! I have no problem with that! Sorry to hear about your Wyandotte! I can't even imagine.
