YO GEORGIANS! :)

Because the Welsummer has such a thick coating on it's shell, it is harder for the chicks to pip thru. Just give them extra time. I am wanting some Welsummers. Should I order them from the hatchery or get some from you? Let me know ASAP. Remember, I will be meeting up with you in March to get those other chicks we ordered.

You were right. The rock hatched on day 21. The first Welsummer on day 22. Had 2 more Welsummers hatch today (day 23) and another breaking the shell open now. I had 5 Welsummer eggs and thought 4 of them were duds as of this morning (day 23). Now it looks like 4 of the 5 are going to make it.

Here are the two that hatched so far today (day 23) - one is 5 minutes out of the shell - the other about 3 hours.

that speckled egg is a welsummer? thats awesome right there! I also didn't know they laid those dark brown eggs either, now maybe I need to check into some of those instead of trying to find marans

Of the styrofoam incubators, I have found the Hova-Bator to be better than the LG. It holds temp and humidity more evenly/consistently than the LG. It isn't a huge difference but it is real. I've run the two different units side-by-side in hatching at home and in the schools that I do the classes in.

Good morning everyone. I will be moving in about a week and I have silkies I need to get rid of. I'm only taking my ams n a few other that I have.
I would like a pair

What incubator would you folks buy that have been through the trial and error? I would like one that is kind of set it and forget it.
Please reply , I will be ordering one in a couple of days.
Thanks
I love my Brinsea, I have the octagon 20 Eco, I didn't get the bells and whistles but I tried one of those Styrofoam ones and gave it away, with the promise of a trade in the spring I didn't have any luck with it, I'm sure it was just me, but I couldn't get the humidity/temp right

yeah, one egg a day is crazy unless they are laying in a hidden spot, like I found in my flower pot

Papa, I'm having the same problem.
My egg customers keep wanting more and more, to where I had to tell Dani no when she asked for an egg for breakfast.
And my AMs have totally stopped laying. They sure do eat though!
