YO GEORGIANS! :)

This weekends renters just left. They left enough food to feed our local friends AND my chickens AND my dogs for a week! Huge casseroles, sandwiches, tons of chickens, chili, spaghetti, etc etc! In the freezer was one of Randy's favorites. Frozen strawberry daiquiri mixes. 4 of the ready to drink kind! Brand new ice creams, never opened box of chocolate covered cherries (for me!) and tons of donuts, 7 unopen bottles of orange juice, I mean, it's like Easter here! HAA!

But, the thing I wanted to tell you is that two of the women came up to me as they were leaving and said they wanted to buy a chick each. I asked if they had other chickens. NO. Well, why do you want just one? BECAUSE THEY ARE SO CUTE! Well, I don't sell just one. You would need to get at least three because they don't do well alone. And, you do realize they grow up, right? (BLANK STARES) Where are you going to put this chicken? Do you have a predator proof coop? (BLANK STARES) Did you go to my coop and see how big they get? NO.

Daa, I just can't get over the fact that people are just clueless about small things growing up to be adult size. I use to work in a plant nursery and people did the same thing. They would buy a bush to put next to a walk way and not realize that that bush was going to grow to be 10 feet by 10 feet! It's incredible to me that these two ladies did not have a clue as to what to do with a baby chick! Needless to say, I did NOT sale them a chick!

The one swap at Cliff's TSC that I was able to attend turned out well. I picked up a white show girl who has been a cutie and a sweet bird. She has been broody now a week which is great for me as my Mottled Cochins are laying but not wanting to sit. The Buff laced polish I bought has turned out to be a beautiful addition to my varied flock. Just rambling for the benefit of anyone on the fence about attending. You can find some great birds there.

...or was it?

Where is Robo? I need backup here. I'm clearly being bullied. WHAT have you DONE to him??

He's still weeping in the corner.

Are you around today?  I seriously need to thin the mealworm population.

I am just waiting for the chick fight to commence!

HA! I said "chick fight" in a chicken forum.
