YO GEORGIANS! :)

See, I think that I should go ahead and order the eggs and then Robo would have to get the enclosure built.

In case you've forgotten, you didn't marry a constructionist. I can't even figure out which end of the boards to put together.

So this guy has been advertising on the Georgia chicken groups on Facebook. Prices were ridiculously low, so I arranged to go to his place to look Unlike what I was expecting, his pens were nice and clean, birds were healthy, shiny and perky. I saw eggs in nests, and the Marans eggs were nice and a dark chocolate brown. I brought home 5 Welsummers, 5 French Blue Marans (and black and splash), and 2 Lavender Ameraucanas. He hatches weekly, and is in Summerville. He also has Leghorns (Exchequer and Isabel), RIR, Dominiques, Speckled Sussex and umm, I thought there was one other LOL. Welsummers were $2, Marans $3, Lavender Ams were $5. The Leghorns and Sussex aren't laying at the moment. I'm on his list for the Sussex and Leghorns :)
I'm jealous! Those are some of my wish list breeds!

Thanks for that info. They order from Mt.Healthy hatchery in case anyone wants to go to their site and see what they have. I have 3 SLW I bought there last Spring and none look like each other. We got a barred rock and it turned out to be a Black Australorp so be sure you are getting what you want and don't allow any of the young people to pick for you because most have no clue what chick is what certain breed. Forgot to mention, their Aracanas are Easter Eggers.

I got black sex link that turned out to be an australorp and a jersey giant that turned out to be some mixed looking black hen. Also, agreed about the Easter Eggers. They were all healthy and lay well.

Can you post the information please

I've been talking to him about eggs/chicks ... just haven't committed to anything yet since I keep thinking of Summerville as being much further than it really is. With those prices though it is well worth it.

I am right down from there, and can bring them to you if you go to the swap, or can meet you somewhere.
I'd "like" that, but I've already given you all my likes for the day.....

edit to add:

I grew up with four witches, I mean sisters.......and no brothers. Got married (for 36 years now) and had all daughters, you can trust me when I say I know what the meaning of "painful miserable" to the fullest extent
Can we say all daughters is payback

Oh. And somebody on the right side of the state should jump on this quickly....

But if it's a scam, you didn't hear this from me.
I contacted them, so now we wait.

I guess I'm just a scaredy cat.. I always like to meet most people if I can, because I don't want them walking all over my place and leaving their germs everywhere if they have 'em.

Is that just me?

That's me. I had a Dad and his young daughter come by to pick up a couple roosters I needed to rehome. I have chicken fence up that keeps all the chickens to one side (sometimes). From the opposite side they could see my houses well enough and my grazing flock. I have been very lucky not to have any health issues with my birds and I want to keep it that way.

My daughter had a Cayuga duck named lethal and she was the best thing! Super friendly and sweet ! She lived at my daughters feet and swam in the pool wiyh her daily and was the greatest!! Then we got another one after lethal died names daisy... She was a devil and wouldn't let anyone touch her but was an excellent watch dog !!

Ok.  GAM was asking.  She was suspecting it was Kevin.  She said he has a good reputation.

I just bought 5 Dominique pullets from him! We didn't just sell the the chicks he also gave me advice on caring for them. Showed me his new nesting boxes he was working on, and the best ways to build an automatic waterer or feeder! ( which I'm trying to do now) I would definitely recommend buying from him
