YO GEORGIANS! :)

Good week here. :)
Sold 3 surplus roosters, with 6 or so going to Ft Oglethorpe TSC tomorrow to hopefully sell.

Moved my bigger babies into their own section of the coop. moved the next batch up to the wire bottom brooder.

After the next cold snap the bigger babies (now 7 weeks) will go out to the grow out pen.

Does this bird remind anyone of any particular breed? Here are some of the characteristics which are throwing me off. It sleeps like a broiler. i.e. head in the food dish, laid out flat like it's exhausted with it's neck stretched out. It is 5 weeks old and is only marginally bigger than it was the day i got it. The feathers are only slightly coming in. The wings are filled in, tail is coming in and the body feathers are 50/50. The head is all still fluff. When it was originally beginning to feather out it almost appeared to be a frizzle because the feathers grew straight out before laying down and once they grew out the feather almost resembled a peacock feather in that it filled out, then tapered down, then had a final round portion to the feather at the very end. The hatchery was stumped by this and her birds are completely locked down by breed so there is very little chance of cross breeding birds. I cannot for the life of me figure out what this bird is. If it grew faster i would swear it's a broiler the way it always looks sleepy, but because of how slowly it's growing there's just no way it's a cornish of any sort.

I've had a good chicken week this week too, in spite of falling over the block in the coop the other day....LOL

I've sold 4 dozen eating eggs, a dozen hatching eggs and 7 chicks! almost a hunnerd bucks brought in by the chickens this week! if the other guy comes and gets the other two dozen eggs tomorrow, that's another $6 that would put me over the century mark this week! top it off, I got my first green egg from my AM/Aussie cross and it's been a great week!

AND the bruise on my leg has turned almost the same color green as the egg from yesterday! So I match

Yay! Finally got my NPIP test results and are officially a NPIP flock. I have a bunch of 5-9 week old mottled, chocolate, cuckoo, English Orpington Roosters to sell and several other varieties. Anyone have any interest. These are sweeties and going to be huge birds. They are from papas poultry. Your can view parents on their website. I just have too many Roos. Located in Brinswick GA.

Congrats! Did it take a long time to hear back or something?

Papa's Orps are amazing!

Seven weeks! Throw those babies out!! LOL

They are in a coop with no heat, but that 30 degrees Monday morning is still making me hesitate on moving them to the "big" pen.
Their playroom is better insulated.

Hoping to sell off the extra roos today, then my friend picks up her 9 hens on Monday, so I can see what is actually left in the barnyard mix pen.
