YO GEORGIANS! :)

Well, the eggs I brought were a pretty light brown to beigey color, maybe medium sized. The marans eggs I brought were medium -smallish and they weren't extra dark. The only marking on all of them would be the date they were laid, written in pencil. They'd be dated from 4/25-4/29. This is what my handwriting looks like.

I'm dying to see what everyone's new babies look like! Maybe some day I'll get the courage to try hatching.
No I didn't get any with writing on them like that, next time.

I almost forgot to share my OMG moment and my I gotcha.

OMG I have a coop that has an upstairs and downstairs, I like for the birds to roost upstairs but some of the little ones stay downstairs, I don't have roosts there but it is enclosed and safe, but the OMG moment was they are roosting up stairs

awww they are getting to be big babies.

Now the I gotcha, I hated to do it but I had to..... I killed a 4ft snake tonight, it was a good snake but that size you can't relocate them they would end up back here, so I did it, it was going for my babies I had out this evening for a little before bed. and my cat was trying to play with it well that is what made me take notice and then I saw it, ran inside got my shot gun, course DH is wondering what I doing, ran back outside maneuvered around the barbwire fence and kabooooooom, dead one black snake. Yep DH followed with his gun, but I was too quick,

I have two of the light ones. What kind of chickens are those?

Well, my latest hatch is over. I had 24 eggs, only 17 hatched. I was sad that the 4 SBEL did not hatch. They were pipped internally, but never made it out. Why is that? Is the air sac too small and they run out of air before they can pip out? I really really wanted one of those. The eggs were huge and I was looking forward to huge blue eggs! The other 3 that didn't hatch were almost totally developed except for a small yolk sac. Almost every time I hatch, I am losing chicks around day 18-21. It's really frustrating! Advice, please!
