YO GEORGIANS! :)

Quote: Absolutely, Im not afraid of them, but respectful , I never kill the non venomous ones( since we are on a lake, we have the bad ones, plus timber rattlers)...Im still working on putting 1/2 in hardware cloth around the bottom, however the top 4 ft of my run is chain link, so im not sure what to put there unless i utilize the left over chicken wire i have to cover that! what do you think?

I went out earlier to my broodies to check on who's got babies and it's a good thing one almost dried chick was way out in the pen, so it went to a different momma, so far 3 broodies 5 chicks, saved 2, and more to come!!! and my bator has eggs in it too!!!

I have 2 buff's that are a funny pair, I named them Lucy and Sally, and really they should have been named Lucy and Ethel. They are the same age, but Lucy is the bigger of the two, and she is the boss, or "Godmother" and Sally is her enforcer...LOL. They all still crack me up fighting over their position on the roost, its really gonna mess them up when I build their new one this week...lol. I started out with one red star that i rescued, and now have 9...and wanting more! I have 3 Delaware's, 2 Barred Rocks, 1 Black sex link, and 1 Red sex link.... Someone on here said not to long ago that Chicken TV was the best, and it sure is! So glad you are enjoying your girls...

livhatcher, thank you for sharing as each chick hatches. It is exciting. I just started raising chicks again after many years. It will be awhile before my chicks lay eggs and hatch babies. Seeing yours hatch one by one is sweet.

You are so sweet!! I'm enjoying this however nervous I am. My babies at the preschool are one day ahead of my group here at home. These two hatched day 20 & there was one little crack in a shell when I left at 4:30. Hoping to find many more in the morning. There were 14 total after losing 7. I'll keep posting since I never tire of baby chicks!!!
