Oh nice. You have a nice variety. I want some marans for their egg color. But my husband and I are trying to move away from pretty egg colors and move toward dual purpose. So I may start thinning my flock and focusing more on dual purpose.

I've been researching chickens for about 3 months, when I saw the post for 15 chicks for 30 bucks, I jumped on it without thinking much more. I figured if I wanted them I had to eventually do more than research them. Although I am thinking we may add some dual-purpose birds later on. I want to ease hubby into goats or sheep next, lol

That is a pretty good price. And even if you get roosters you can always eat them. I hatched some chicks and will be eating all the males. Makes me a little sad but I don’t have room for so many roosters.

My husband wants goats. I dunno how I feel about them. But right now we can’t find any for cheap. I didn’t know purebreds were $800 plus! We rather get muts for $100 but we’d have to find some

Good kitty kitty

@hysop figured you like this

I don’t have cats. Wish I could keep just one but my sister in law is allergic and even though she doesn’t visit anymore my husband doesn’t want any. My kids love cats so I know they’d love a pet cat but I’d have to either find a kid friendly one or wait til my kids are older before trying to convince my husband to get one one day.

We have 2 other one is a 7 week old kitten, replacement for one that was to dumb to not drown in a 1 inch deep water bowl. She ran out the door while we were coming in and no idea after that. She really was a special needs cat lol..

I can relate to the “music to her ears” of our pantry door opening hoping the orange bag delivers some heavenly kibble. It is amazing to watch her in action.

We have 4 (all adopted us). 3 out and 1 in.
