YO GEORGIANS! :)

Hi everyone
I’m looking for a mature Roo. We lost a hen yesterday to a hawk and I’m devastated. I have 11 more girls that need protection. Does anyone have one they need to re home ? I’m in Coweta county.
If you post this in an Atlanta-area chicken group on Facebook you will probably get many offers (but mostly cockerels) since lots of the metro Atlanta cities don’t allow roosters. Or get on the facebook group for the Newnan chicken swap meet that just happened and see if people who posted roosters they were bringing to the sale still have them? You may have better luck with that than on here…that’s my experience anyway 🤷‍♀️

That’s great advice Thank you

I don't know if you found a roo or not, but try Coweta Chatty Chicken Peeps on Facebook. They're always looking to rehome roosters.
Thanks ! I did get a little silkie roo, probably won’t be able to fight off a hawk for very long but at least he alerts the hens to danger. So I’m still looking for the perfect boy.

I’m not on Facebook tho, is there any other way to access that group ?

I think you have to be on facebook, but you could either have a friend post on your behalf or go to the library and make a throwaway account on that computer if you’re leery of facebook being on your devices. You'd just then have to go back there to check for responses (and remember to logout and what your login info is).

Anyone in Georgia willing to help a second grade teacher out with donating some eggs to hatch so that we may teach life cycles to our second graders? The kids always love it, and we are willing to give you the chickens back once they hatch.
