YO GEORGIANS! :)

Hello to the new comers...Audra you are only about 20 minutes from me.

Well, what started out 5 years ago as a few eggs for me, is now a passion for poultry of all kinds....Thanks a lot BYC and incubators and an indulging hubby and myself......The miracle of birth of these babies just thrills me so....It's so much like the rebirth that can come when a person changes and is transformed....As a dear sainted minister explained to our childrens ministry....mmmm 3 in one, yolk, white, egg shell and what about the 3 in one in Christianity and how rebirth occurs! Kids loved that sermon, especially the cracking of the eggs...mmmMaybe I can bring in an incubator for VBS next year. I'm reminded of this upon every hatching and after about 2000 births this year, that's been a lot of remindings....

Well, we have.....in the adult departments (laying eggs)All separated by pens

French Black Copper Marans
Speckled Sussex
White Leghorns
Barred Rocks
Rhode Island Reds (productions and also the rare Mahogany Reds)
Buff Orpingtons
also our eating egg producers not listed

Slowing down for the season we have laying:
Royal Palm turkeys
Bronze turkeys
Guineas - more kinds/colors than I'll mention:)

Stopped for the season:
Rare Buff Or often called New Jersey Buff turkeys

New upcoming poultry for the next 2010 season:

New flock of Bourbon reds (thanks Prinls)

Beautiful small flock of Red Pencilled Turkeys - Thanks to 3 special BYC'er - LockedHearts,Happy Hatch'en and Pritt

Beautiful flocks of:
Large fowl Cochins
BBS Orpingtons
Wheatan Marans
(again thanks again BYC for the eggs for these)
True Ameracaunas (thanks for the ships from Dipsy Doodle Doo)

Well after listing these out and realizing I probably missed a few, I may have to go to work off the farm to pay for all of the feed.

By the way, if you're looking for a thanksgiving/christmas turkey, we will be having some. Why do I have to want all the chickies I see....Hatched off some Houdans for RavensHaven and LockedHearts...Still remember petting the heads of the 5 week olds and them nodding to sleep.

Y'all need to be coming to the Oct. 24 meetup/swap in Buchanan. I'll come back and post this link after a while.
Here's the link:

ALSO, does anyone know of an on line poultry addicts forum and don't mention BYC......This place is breaking me!

Okay, I want the BYC award for the longest post. I'm totally exhausted....LOL...

If ever I can help any of you, please pm me and I'll try...We full time farm so it may be a bit before I get back with you but I will!

Have a blessed day!

Good morning!!!! You should come to the meetup in Buchannan on Oct. 24. It will be fun,....We used to live in P. Springs near you. Now in West GA. welcome. Let me know if I can ever help you with anything. Come see our little farm with homegrown veggies and many poultry. Much for sale and great for a picnic! We love company but never get out much cause we only go to feed store and the church and neighbors.

Have a great and blessed day.

New to the Forum... I'm in NE GA, Dawsonville area but moving to north of Athens shortly. If there are going to be North GA chicken folk gathering I would be interested. Not sure if I could make it but so much to learn!
