YO GEORGIANS! :)

I just had to share-- My very first batch of hatching eggs are in the incubator, and last night (day 7) we were able to see them moving in there when we candled them!! My boys are so excited!!!

I am still looking for a reasonably priced white leghorn and a barred rock rooster... I will even trade for a red star laying hen?? I am in Fayetteville, and it is hard for me to get very far with my four kids, so it would have to be close by. I thought it would be easier that this to find roosters!

Very cool.....Remember we have oodles of hatching eggs and we're not really far from Fayetteville either...Bring a picnic lunch and make yourself at home on a 90 year old farm!!!!

Ooh! I wish we could make a homeschool field trip out of it! It looks like you're about an hour and half from me... and I'm not sure if the 1 and 2 year old could handle it. If I think we're up to it, I'll let you know!

Nancy,
Do you have any chicks that hatch out yellow. The reason I am asking is that I have a school teacher who is looking for 3-4 dozen eggs to hatch out in school for the kids, but, he only wants to hatch out yellow chicks. None of mine come out yellow.... HELP!!!!!!

He is also wanted 3-4 duck eggs just to try and hatch them out, I told him I would find out how much you charge per egg for ducks and if you have any available right now.

Have you checked on CL? I think I remember someone in McDonough with some barred rocks.

Hello and Welcome! You don't live far from me at all....I am in Waverly Hall which is about 20 minutes north of Columbus. I see you have Coronation and Light Sussex....so do I!! Beautiful birds!!

Hello! Its so cool when you find someone thats close by lol! I use to have some bantam cochins and a couple BBRs they were great but life got really hectic and I gave them to a fellow BYCer. But I'm back now and I have just fallen in love with the sussex. I'm going this weekend to look at some pure coronation chicks so hopefully I'll have a few more.

I have done a few HS kids here on the farm. I love showing them the grown chickens and the chicks. Also the eggs that are hatching they love looking into a egg with a flashlight. I also have Netherlands rabbits and mini horses. And a snake some kids love touching him.
