Yolk pouring out from hatching egg????HELP!!!IS THE CHICK DYING???

Hey its Brandon
So my Rhondda blue hen has been setting eggs for 2 weeks and 3 days now, and today one pipped. Well it looks like its pipped, i didnt see it happen, i just checked in on her and there was a break. It looks exactly like a pip, ive had lots of hatches before. The chick is not cheeping though, i can just feel it moving. Yolk is pouring out of the pip, quite quickly, ive NEVER seen that before. Is it because its early? why is there no cheeping? mama is very protective, like she knows something is wrong.
PLEASE HELP ASAP!!!

tape the area just where the yolk is coming out for now... I think this needs to be contained if this chick has any hope of absorbing it and living.
Hopefully someone else with more experience will know what to do! good luck!

i thought of that too putting tape over the crack but don't know if it would work.

I think the membrane has dried, because when i went out with tape, it has been sealed, and there is still movement. Could it be due to breed? Dad=silkie X light sussex, Mum=australorp?

Mama is VERY PROTECTIVE AND CAREFUL. one of my sweet little Isa Brown hens got into the broody nest box today, and now she has 4 spikes off her comb missing!!! Could the Isa Brown have damaged the egg? but i dont think she got to them, mama is fast! mama now has blood all over her secondry wing feathers. I feel sorry for pancake (the isa brown), shes very timid and wouldnt hurt a fly! Now she walks around quietly with half a comb!

So, does Brandon need to moisten that sealed area? If so, will he need to keep it moist so it does not dry out? Should he or should he not tape it now that it has sealed?
just curious to what you all think.

I have a banty chick hatching on day 18 with yolk coming out. Is there anyone else that's had this lately? I would really like to know what happened to this OP chick. Im desperate to save this little baby

Start your own thread and describe your problem in detail. People often open resurrected threads, see how old they are and move on - it's good to start your own instead so the whole thread is relevant and people don't try to address the OP's long-gone problem.

Sorry about your chick - all I can recommend is to accept the fact that nature makes far more chicks than need to become adults because things like this do happen. I think it's best not to fight the fight for the chick - if it is healthy and will survive it will pull through, otherwise you are fighting against survival of the fittest and surviving animals of poor health that will propagate their genetic weaknesses.
