Yolk Sac Problem

When my last chick hatched the membrane was really dry and the little mite couldn't fight its way out, helped it along the way slighty and it completed the hatch,but part of the yolk sac is dry and still attached and I don't know what to do, its been a good 20 hours now and the chick is still chirping like crazy and kicking its little legs as if to dislodge it, but still hasn't stood up, I've taken as much of the dried stuff away as safely as I can, but don't know what to do next, it also has a stipe of dried membrane right down its back from its head to near enough its little bottom, please can someone help and advise as I would hate to lose the little thing as its been fighting to survive for quite some time, don't want it to give up.

Can you tell if its navel is closed or not. Also make sure the dried up stuff on its back isn't wrapped around its legs. The thin dried up stuff you can cut off or pinch off with finger nails. As far as what's left on its belly you might want to leave alone. If you pull on it you can pull its guts out. If you can post a pic of its belly.

Hi thanks for your reply. I have managed to remove the dried membrane from most of its back, just wet it slightly with a little warm water on a Q tip waiting for it to soften and eased it off with tweezers. I think the navel has closed, as I said I have trimmed all around the excess on its navel and left as little as possible dont want to mess with it too much, have left it in the incubator and checking it every half hour or so and so far so good, but too frightened to remove any more just in case I cause a bigger problem, I've attached a pic (not too good I'm afraid) but hope you can see my problem. Its up on it feet no although still a little wobbly, when do you think it will be okay to put in with my other hatchlings - only 3 that were hatched a couple of days ago ?

How is you're little chick doing now? Have you put it in with everyone else yet? From what I could see from the pic it didn't look to bad. I would have put antibiotic ointment on it and covered with a bandaid. Once it was covered you could put it with the rest. I hope it's doing well.
