I searched the forum but didn't find any questions or answers about this so I apologize if I overlooked this question being answered already.
I have a few hens that are 3+ years old, I understand that hens can lay past that age my question is for the last month (a few times a week) I have had a "fart egg" in the nesting box with the other eggs, we chuckled at the size and didn't think much about it. This morning as I was cleaning out the coop one of my oldest hens was sitting in the nest, I went about my chores and before I was done she emerged from the coop, I went to gather her egg and realized she is my fart egg culprit. My question, is she now past her prime? I know now that she hasn't laid a normal egg for awhile. Of course the fart egg is yolkless which lead me to ask the question.
