Also, I would like to ask if you have a lot of one breed, will they gang up. I have 3 barred rocks but only two of them hang out together. The other barred rock is actually more sweeter. Kind of a weird question.

How do chickens prefer their roosts? High? Or low?

This is breed dependent. My Leghorns would roost on extension cords I had strapped to the ceiling if they could squeeze in a tight spot between the ceiling and the cord between rafters. Larger breeds prefer to roost lower.

Thanks for replying! All my hens roost at the same height. They all seem happy with it. The naked necks also seem fine. Although they will jump down at times to eat food or drink water.

I have one more question:
Are my hens supposed to get bigger or fatter? Not that I want to butcher any of them. I just see hens in pictures and they like bigger and fatter. Mine are skinny and small.

Thanks for answering. I’m sure none of them are sick. They’re skinny and healthy. I just wonder why they don’t look like the chickens on the internet. They’ll grow over time.
