I know there must be an answer, or you wouldn't be asking, but it really does depend.

For our Pacific Tree Frogs, we need it to be under 2' deep.

But if you want frogs to winter over, it depends where you live. They might winter over in a foot or 2 in the south, but in the north, where it freezes, need many, many feet.

Why don't you give us the answer, and ask another question?

Well, no one's answering, so I'll give it a shot. Rainbow Trout are pretty common, so we'll start with that one. (Do they even have those in Vt.?)

So, what are rainbow trout?

Will check back after I eat.

Sorry no Rainbow trout but yes we do have them. That was the first fish I ever caught on a fly rod

HINT: The fish is called a trout but is really a char.
