I have a bad situation of my own making (per norm)
I had a broody who hatched only 2 out of 10 eggs. The chicks, an Americans & a marans were hatched 3 days apart. After the 26th day I gave up on the remaining eggs and decided to replace them with chicks. I found 6 day of to 3 day old lavender orpingtons. I tried late afternoon placing them under her and removing the eggs. She didn't hurt them but she did peck them very hard and puff up at them. I tried again last night. She let's them sleep under her, no problem but she continues to peck them hard when they come out.
I took her out of the brooder and left all the chicks in including the 2 she hatched. I feel bad because she is sitting beside the brooder and won't leave. She packs the new babies through the bars. I feel bad about separating her from her own, But this is the only way I feel I can keep the new babies safe.
Should I try again tonight?

Darn spell check....ameraucana.

I am working on somewhere to keep her with her own two to keep them safe. What I need to know is whether there is any chance of her accepting the newbies if I try again.

No she won't that is why she is pecking them. She wants her own Chicks. They are imprinted to each other..
