Just letting everyone know...I sectioned off & fenced a portion of our (huge) run for Lucy and her two babies. The other 6 babies are in the kennel next to them. I fixed them a nest & they have a heat lamp for night time. It's in the mid nineties right now with no wind so I'm sure they won't need the heat during the day. I gave lucy and her babies the covered cat box that she nested in. She is happy to have her two but is sitting on the ground by the kennel rather than her nest. The lavender chicks are sitting up against her on the other side of the kennel bars. No delusions though, she still pecks at them through the bars when she notices them. It isn't a friendly peck.
