You cannot reason with a chicken!

This is interesting. I sold 7 BCM 2 day old chicks to a woman whose broody hatched some Isbars and she put my 7 in with the Isbars and the broody (a silkie, mind you!) took to them immediately! No problem. Is it possible that it is an age thing? Is there, perhaps, a cutoff point at which the broody will not take the new chicks?

Think it just depends on the broodys temperment, ive read successful and unsuccessful adoptions with broody chickens of all different ages
