You gotta SEE this!

That is freak'n awesome. I am still laughing. You shouldn't need to worry about predators. A racoon will see that and either run scared or fall over laughing and lose his appetite.

Okay, I'm confused.
Do you keep the glasses on them all the time, actually glued to their beaks, or just long enough for the photo shoot?
I used to dress my cat up in doll clothes, but this goes way beyond that!
I know having chickens is fun, but this is a riot!

I love it. May I place an order for ummm 29 please. I do not have any bad pickers but I want to see all my girls wearing those.

LOVE EM!

They are not for dress up (except in my case if I do this to them) they are there to stop feather picking and pecking at each other. He merely took the plain jane version and made it cute.

Rainbow-

They are not glued to the beaks. They are attached by soft "prongs" that go into the nostrils. The googly eyes are glued to the "pinless" peepers" just for fun. The peepers act as blinders, so the hen can't see to pick at another hen, and stay on until feathers grow back on all the hens.

Beerguzzler, you're right, no self respecting pred is going to drag that home!!

Dr. Doorlock, do the peepers seem to be helping? My girls keep pecking eachother despite my best efforts to get them to stop. I think those may be the next thing I try!!

Thanks,
Sonja

I found out about "Pinless Peepers" from someone in this forum. I Googled and got Eggcartons.com. They even replaced some that broke while I was putting them on. The girl's don't seem to mind and they simply can't pick what they don't see.

Thanks for the info. I ordered some yesterday, so hopefully they'll do the trick. I thought things were getting better with my girls until I watched my 2 RIRs pull all of the beard feathers out of one of my faverolles.

Poor girl.

They were one big happy family until I removed our roo (he's a big boy and wore the back feathers off of a good chunk of my smaller girls even with saddes on). Now a few naughty chickens have taken to pecking at the others. We drove by a local restaurant who was offering a fried chicken special yesterday. I told my ds if those girls didn't start behaving we'd have to take them in there and give them a pep talk!

(Live of course).

Thanks for your help, I can't wait to get mine!! We may copy your idea, too. It's too funny.
