Giver her a nest box to lay in. She won't hide them from you. Her laying might be sporadic at first and then she'll start laying once a day or every other day. BTW is it just the one hen you have?

Congrats on your first egg! That is a beautiful big egg! Are you going to eat it today? I saved mine up for a few days and made a big pan of scrambled eggs for everyone. It was great!

You can make her a nest really easy out of an old small rubbermaid tub or a milk crate. Then fill it with straw or hay and she will make it into the nest she wants.
