They seem to be growing a bit differently from eachother so i'm worried that 1 might be a you-know-what (which I can't have).

Man....now that I post the pictures, the gray one (Georgia) looks to have some reddening of the comb--I don't really notice it otherwise. She was named after Curious George because, well, she was the most curious (I have young boys, okay?!

).

The other one is Zumba.

We got them at a feed store, supposed to be pullets of course. They order from Privett.

Hmm. I don't see any saddle feathers, yet, but the bird in the third pic has a redder comb AND some honkin' great legs!

From the photos it looks like the orange/red chicks are pullets. The darker colored one looks suspicious...I'd keep it a while longer but I wouldnt add it to your pullet count just yet.

Sometimes these guys can be tricky!

In person the legs look exactly the same on the 2 birds to me, and proportionally the same as the sex links. But that 1 picture does make the legs looks way thicker.
The first thing that got me wondering was how differently their tail feathers are coming in, the gold one's is more stubby and the gray one is long. Darn EEs!

Also, the gold one has a pretty smooth, even head. The gray is more like a ridge on each side of the comb...does that mean anything?

Those are ALL pullets/girls, and not Ameraucanas.

yeah...I forgot...I actually got them as AmerIcanas.

I haven't totally gone to calling them EEs b/c most people I know around here haven't heard the term, and I'm not yet at the point where I feel like explaining it. I already got teased by a neighbor for finding these boards--a neighbor who has gone thru many chickens in the last 5 years.

Anyway, I know that EEs can be tricky to sex but i'm so glad to hear that nothing is screaming roo.

Jury is still out for me on the third pick down. Could go either way but if I had to wager, I'd wager roo.

i am disagreeing, i believe the darker one to be a roo. too much comb for 5 weeks, especially for an EE. He is too young for roo feathers yet.
