well its a fact if I had no bad luck I would have none at all. After the owl trying to eat my chicken right off my front porch steps Tuesday. ( she is still alive some how) Today I spent the afternoon at the Er vet hospital with one of my pet dwarf nubians. Found it at 3:30 this am dragging it self by its front knees. Brought him in the house and stayed up all night with him and morning. By 9am he seemed to be getting better, only to by 11:30 to start having seziures every 5 mins. We rushed him to the vet hospital, the closet one open today being 45mins away. Got a very nice vet that tried to be as helpful and nice as she could be, but basicly it was a he probably wont make it diqnosis. Give him these and if he makes it though the night he has a 50/50 chance. But it really doesn't look good. You did nothing wrong it's something that if it happens it all comes in a few minutes you could not have know it would turn into this this morning..... .blah blah blah. None of that makes me feel any better I can quarentee you that.

well its time to gove him more meds so I guess I will give you all an update later.

UPDATE:

We lost Ed at 10:05 last night Dh tried cpr for 15mins but it was to late.

Vet said it was most likely a Genetic Disorder, (I wish I could remeber the name of it right now so I could warn you all of it, but things are kind of a blur right now for me) the only two other things that could cause such symptioms was a worm infestation ( they were just wormed 4 months ago) or a vit B defency. If it was one of those he should make it even though he was terribly bad. But he did not.

So we are guessing it was the genetics, which in that case she had said there would be nothing we could do. It attacks the brain basicly eatting it and they can go from a fine happy goat to trembling with sezures in a blink of an eye. And once they start it's basicly already to late.

There is no way to tell an animal you have boughten has it unless you do dna profiling for breeding purposes. They will look and act completely healthly.

It was a terrible, terrible death that I hope none of you ever have to watch one of your animals go through. That goat was just like one of our dogs, we loved him so much. I guess that is kinda weird hugh? I am just glade my 4yr son was at his grammy's for the weekend.
