You know what's impossible? Keeping two little boys in time out.

There was a cartoon in womans world of a little boy in the 'time-out' chair.
He was looking back saying "you realize i'm just storing up energy, dont you"?

I just keep setting them back in it. One time it took me 10 mins for my 2 year old.
Boy did that get him hot hot hot
He wore himself into a nap and I got an hour and a half to myself

My 4 year old puts himself in time out if I give him the right look

My own kids are 3 and 4, I used to think they were hard to handle, then I got my 17 year old nephew living with me.... Now I know why people say teenagers are tough! Some days everything is an argument! Its crazy! I don't remember behaving like that!

I never got time out ~ I got an ole fashioned butt woopin'. Of course that was a long time ago, it worked.

Timeouts must be working for us ... put them in the corner, make them explain why what they did was wrong, and make them apologize when warranted.

My daughter asks "Why can't I just get a spanking instead?"

Its all tooo funny now!! and yes toddlers are easier than teens.When mine needed a time out,Id put the kitchen chairs in the middle of the living room floor and set the timer..Id stay in the L.R till the timer went off,if they got down,they got more time.Then Id ask why they had to go to T.O?? so they understood,bad choices/actions of their own is why they got there.As they got older 5,6 ish or so.If they were fighting,Id make them sit right next to each other on the couch and they could not get down till the other one said it was ok..That forced them to get along,work it out and apologize.Of course they didnt sit long and it always ended with a apology followed by playing/laughter.I could never put them in their room for T.O. They would destroy the place. lol now...not then..The secret to parenting is: "you are not lone" everyone goes through things,some easier,some unbelievable...Some admit it,some are in denial...There is no such thing as a perfect parent and there is no such thing as a perfect child..We are Blessed with our children and we do the best we can,pray alot(ALL THE TIME) and take alot of deep breaths...Cherish the moments and learn from them...there are alot of days I feel that my kids have taught me more than I taught them..lol..
