You know you are getting old when:

Or you know it has to get picked up so you call a grandchild to come get it, because you know if you bend over to pick it up, there's a better than even chance you won't be able to get back up ... and you don't have your phone on you to call 911.

I particularly like it when it takes three tries because the floor gets lower and you just can't seem to get it on the first two.

But you decide you have to retrieve it. And while down there, wonder what else you can do to make it worth the effort to bend over and then get back up.

And you have to have a plan to get back up.
