You know you are getting old when:

Walleye is some of the best tasting fish on earth. I love Swai also, very good flavor. Used to flyfish the rivers of MO. Rainbow and Brown are both delicious. Another favorite fish. Plus, it's just fun standing in the moving water.

Saltwater or fresh water, it's all good!

Crappy is wonderful but a nice flounder is tasty as well!
Raised on Crappie but once I got good flounder it's hard to settle for less. Haddock is one of the best that comes from the cold waters of the North Atlantic for me. I like sun perch or what is known as Shell Crackers in FL that come from some cold sandy bottom lakes in Central FL.

No way I'll touch Swai.... Not the taste, it is where it comes from and the conditions of the waters. I had a friend on another forum that was a seafood distributor and he informed us about it. My dad's favorite fish was Crappie or known as Speckled Perch in Central to South FL. We ate it often and it was OK when it was all you had.

So while grocery shopping, I perused the frozen fish and found a package of Swai. I immediately recalled your statement and passed on it. Chose flounder (frozen) and fresh Salmon instead.
Beware even all flounder is not created equal. Some fall apart when cooking. We learned the hard way that Arrow Tooth flounder was not for us. Filet of sole is very good or at least it was very good back in the 60's. So many of the really good fish are getting harder and harder to find. For awhile we got good Haddock from Walmart. Hard to find now. Replaced with so much that is not a product of the USA....
