Whoa, for a second there, I missed the fact that you had quoted someone else, and thought that you were talking about Moon Pies....

I do not cut mine up in matchsticks. I cut my potatoes in quarters and then slice off a little triangle shapes.
I have company to feed tonight I might have to make some fried taters so y'all people can see what they're supposed to look like.
I grew up in FL, with KA/SD parents. I didn't know there was such a thing as fried taters until I married a KY hillbilly and went to live near his parents in OH. That's how they taught me to make them. 🤷‍♀️ Real delicious. 😍 Haven't had them in decades. (Marrying him was one of a distressingly large number of poor life decisions that, at the time, seemed like such a good idea. :oops: )

I had an onion cake once, at a Middle Eastern restaurant. It sounded weird, but you chose a meal, not individual dishes, so I gave it a try. It was actually really good--didn't taste like onion. 🤷‍♀️ I wouldn't have known.
