The chicken disease doesn't stop with actual chickens, either. I just ordered two pieces of art off Etsy and they're not for my house, they're to decorate the coop for my hens LOL

hahahaha well now....I'm almost slipping on the little patch of ice on the edge of the slope...I got 10 chickens, perfectly convinced that I could be content with them, not needing any more, 10 was enough to love and care for. Ha. First of, I ended up with 12. Yay me! BUT THEN. I got chick fever. Fuzzy, peepy, adorbaleness. A year later I am sitting with 6 fuzzballs on my lap. Oh, and one is a rooster so I can replace any when my flock gets old, and slack in egg production. um..... I only 7 eggs yesterday? That's no as many as I usually get, right? They're slowing down? here rooster rooster these are some pretty hens?![]()

Yep!! Forest Hill has gone high tech!Wow, they have internet in Forest Hill, WV?!? (joking!) My dad's parents were from that area - Sandstone/Hinton, and my mom's a bit further down the road - Lockbridge/Meadowbridge. Pretty much all of the family that way is long gone, although I still get to Hinton on occasion for a nostalgic day trip or such: Sandstone falls, the DQ on the river for the kid to watch the giant fish, Train days, etc.
I actually don't remember the exact layout of the little towns down that way, but I may drive through Forest Hill on my way to Pence Springs occasionally in the summer.
Right... So i join this forum a while back just looking for helpful information to get off on the right foot managing a small flock of just a few chickens and what do I get? A freaking addiction that has all ready turned my small flock into a novelty backyard flock of Easter Eggers (once my 5 y.o. found out chickens could lay 'easter eggs'), the probably addition of some silkies because guess what? Chickens aren't 'just for eggs,' but can be pets too.... I've upgraded my coop twice all ready in less than a year (from a little a-frame tractor, to a small coop w/ attached run, to a larger coop)... but I just can't leave the coop and run empty? (silkies).... and since I'm adding more chickens anyway... why not add just a couple more, right? right?!? (I think I want a few Seramas)
And now, I sometimes visit the turkey (and other bird) sub-forums....
Stupid chickens.
Chicken math cure anyone?
