i hate to say it... but i think it's a roo... i mean, those tail feathers just don't say pullet to me...

sorry for the bad pic, but my EE is the blue/gray looking tail... she's a currently laying hen, and her feathers are much more "upright"...

could be wrong, but it's just something to compare by

I vote Roo, too. It stands pretty tall and doesn't have the typical round-ish body (even tho I know EE hens aren't fluffy and round like a Buff Orp).

My EE pullets had no comb at all until right before they started to lay, so even tho "his comb is pink it makes me think young rooster.

All of my current young pullets still have lower slung bodies and a girly girl look to them. The cockerels look like this one, more angular and long legged.

MHO-FWIW!

Wow, the afternoon crowd turned on me. To tell the truth I'm thinking Roo too. I'm just holding out hope. Maybe I can teach him to cluck

I'll check when I get home for the tail feathers

- your 'few weeks' has only been 9 days. Your last post asking for identifcation on these 2 chicks was June 3 when they were almost 7 weeks old.

I stand by my last answer and still think they are roos - sorry. At least EEs are a good type of roo to get if you're going to get any - if you keep them, they are much nicer than some breeds and they're easier to rehome than some roos because of the unique green egg factor (that is, if you don't eat your roos).
