You should SEE my kitchen!!!!

I am so sorry -- been there, done that. Dishes in the bathtub for a few days until the plumber could make it to podunk, usa. Hugs and hope it gets taken care of tomorrow!!

We had the same thing happen and I took that trap off and found THREE knives along with a bunch of GOOK stuck in there. After removing all that it drained like a charm

My hubby was amazed that I did it on my own

Now I do it to the sinks at least once a year just to keep them clean. ALways find amazing stuff in them too lol

I don't work at Lowe's but I did sleep at a Holiday Inn Express last night. Have you tried putting a broom handle down the disposer and feeling around a bit until you find one of the paddles, and brace the handle against it and GENTLY turn the disposer a quarter turn or so, and then flip the switch? (put something over the drain, cuz if it fires up it might make a sewage geyser for a few seconds before it clears) Lowe's guy, feel free to jump in here if you know any reason that what I said is a bad idea!
Good luck. Hey, check craigslist, inlandempire.craigslist.com. someone in AV is looking for a pair of chickens for $20. Got any culls?

Oh, little Miss Yappy I feel for you!!!
We have been waiting over a week for the landlord to get the poop sucker truck over here to empty the septic (that he doesnt know when it was EVER emptied before) This was after it backed up into DH office bathroom, and so now we are hoping since the ground is unfreezing that maybe the tank will leach a little...so we can do laundry, and run the dishwasher.....I hope you get your sink back soon!!!!

garbage disposals usually have a reset button on the bottom that you push if it wont turn on or if it turns on but wont drain there is a spot which a larger alan wrench fits in that you turn back and forth to loosen whats clogging it this is on the bottom of the disposal also. very easy to fix. my husband clogged ares real bad with lobster shells once and very unhandy me fixed it. good luck have fun doing the dishes

We have already removed the trap, used a coat hanger to look for the clog, pluged the daylights out of the sink, etc. It is plumber time.

debi - Sorry to hear that. Sounds like you did everything you could. Plumbers = $$.

Bummer. Best of luck.
