You should SEE my kitchen!!!!

Hey Debs, Sounds like it's Cherry Bomb time! Do you have a good landlord who stays on top of things for you?
We don't rent and I have a vegetable sink in my kitchen island counter that has not worked for - I can't recall! Hubs can't fix it and neither can I. Like the guy said plumbers = $$ We now have a tinfoil baking tray that sits in the sink for unsuspecting guests that try to use it! It's like Green Acres around her. Something is wrong with every single appliance in my kitchen right now!

That would make me crazy - I talked to my ex-in-law and he will come over this afternoon to fix it for us - he is a plumber, and I am sure we will get a better deal that a regular plumber. My lardlord called and said the guy she used is out of business.

At least I know Mark will do it today!

So....... how far is Apple Valley from Phoenix? It's in the 70's here today... What's his name? Mark??

What exactly is it doing? I mean, does the disposal move? Is it grinding and swirling the water and not moving anything down the pipe? I had this happen to me once. I had to make sure the non-disposal side was plugged with a stopper before plunging the disposal side. Otherwise there is no good suction/vacuum created. I just cannot stand not being able to use my sink, and so I tend to fix plumbing stuff myself. No matter what it is. I have fixed showers, toilets, and sinks/clogs. I just hate waiting and/or paying for someone else to do it when I know I can figure it out.

So, I really feel for you. What rejoicing when it is finally fixed, eh?!

We have plugged the other side, plunged for over an hour, liquid plumber twice, took the pipes apart and stuck a coat hanger in the pipes. Nothing. The disposal moved and grinds, sucks the water down that side and up the other side. Then we turn it off and both sinks fill up.

That sounds like what I went through. Sorry I couldn't be there to help you more.

Did you put carrot peels down the disposal? Those always get me. For some reason they never grind really well. Weird. Anyway, I am trying to remember exactly what it was that it took for that clog to dislodge... seems I had to do a combination of things... like depress the plunger, then plug the other side, then pull up on the plunger... something weird like that. Plumming issues are like puzzles to me, I love trying to figure them out. I would love to know what the plummer does when he comes to fix your sink.

Guess it is time to fix yourself a strong cup of coffee and wait, eh?

Sorry I couldn't help you further.

I never put potato peels, carrot peels, egg shells or rice in the disposal. But I do put verything else down there. I need to find out what the clog IS before I know what I did wrong.

Yep we went through that too the actuall area plugged was just before it went outside about 30 feet from the kitchen where it meets the main drain heading outside. They used a Powered snake down my drain. Cost me $238 bucks!!! took them all of 20 minutes
