So I'm building a quail pen and trying to find an inexpensive way to lock the doors. Door frames will be on 1" x 1" strip so not much space to mount latch. Learning from DC's loss (sorry!) we know that hook-and-eye latch doesn't work. What do you think about these options:
1. Sliding bolt:

2. Or a combination of this - 2 eye hooks and a key clip to lock them together:

Do you think either of these 2 options will be sufficient against coons?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For my chicken run I used this latch below with the key clip, but then I've been lazy not using the key clip anymore. Probably need to use it again. Coons and Possums always lurk around my backyard.
