On Thursday I get a call from my Daughter.

"Dad - we caught a dog in the yard & we're gonna keep it"

WHAT?

"Yup - there was this little puppy & it attached one of my hens. We scared it off & of course the hen had given up all hope & was just laying there"

OK - I say

"well - we took the hen to the coop & there was the dog sitting inside the coop waiting. So we caught it & we're gonna keep it".

Apparently I dont have a say in this.

Turns out - the "puppy" weighs in at 4lbs

Also turns out the "puppy" is about 2 years old as best the vet can tell.

Finally - It turns out the "puppy" is pregnant!

I need to post some pics - maybe later this week.

This little thing was starving to death & decided that one of my 7lb hens would be just the morsal needed to make it another week.

The dog is a sweet as can be though -she loves the kids & follows us around everywhere.

We checked with the neighbors & they didn't lose her - but had been trying to catch her for a couple of days.

I can't imagine the size of a 4lb dogs puppies. I need to keep the hens away from them or the tables may be turned!

A 4lb pup might need a C-section when the time comes.

My cats weigh more than that!

What I was think. We had a 4 pound chihuahua and decided not to breed her because we never found a small enough male that she would not need a section
